Police End Hunt for Four-Year-Old Child Disappeared in Australian Outback
Australia's authorities have called off the hunt for a four-year-old child who has been disappeared in the remote area for almost three weeks, after fresh efforts failed to find any evidence of the boy.

Gus Lamont was last seen enjoying himself outside his residence on a secluded farmland near Yunta, about a significant distance from Adelaide, on 27 September.
His family member left him alone for about thirty minutes before looking for him, only to find the child nowhere to be found, prompting one of the most extensive comprehensive searches in local history.
Latest Status
Authorities - who do not think there was foul play - say they will carry on looking into, but that the matter has become a "recovery mission".
Recently, authorities briefly scaled back the search, only to resume it on this week alongside eighty Australian Defense Force members.
"Official the commissioner said police were looking a wider zone based on revised assessments from survivability and search experts, rather than any fresh leads."
Operation Challenges
On Friday, authorities confirmed that the recent hunt had not uncovered any signs of Gus.
"The reality that Gus is a young child, the terrain is very rough, harsh and experiencing variable climate has made the operation difficult and more complex for those participating," police said in a release.
About 470 sq km - an region roughly double the size of urban center - has now been covered, and a 12-person unit set up earlier this week is expected to carry on looking into. Authorities have not discounted additional missions of the area in the coming days.

Loved Ones Response
Authorities recently said the boy's relatives stay "resilient" despite the difficult situation.
"You can imagine just how they are experiencing... without having answers as to specifically where Gus is and what's occurred to him. This would be devastating for every family," Official the commissioner said.
Through a representative, the relatives family has earlier said they are "heartbroken" by the child's loss.
"This constitutes a surprise to our relatives and friends, and we are having trouble to comprehend what has transpired," the spokesperson said.
"The child's absence is noticed in all of us, and we yearn for him beyond language can express."
